01 About the institute

A research house built for the questions that outlast a funding cycle.

Tekh Institute was founded on a simple conviction: the technologies that will define the coming decades are too consequential to be developed in isolation. We work at the intersection of fundamental science and practical engineering, translating laboratory results into systems that industry and government can actually deploy.

Our researchers hold joint appointments with universities across Germany, the Netherlands, and Singapore. That structure keeps our work anchored in academic rigour while giving our partners direct access to findings long before they reach publication. Every programme we run is reviewed by an independent scientific council.

Beyond the laboratory, we advise regulators and standards bodies on the governance of autonomous systems and data infrastructure. We believe technical expertise carries an obligation to inform the people who write the rules, and we publish our policy submissions openly.

A five year collaboration with two university hospitals to build predictive models that read imaging and laboratory data together rather than separately. The system flags likely deterioration days before conventional thresholds trigger, giving clinical teams a wider window to intervene.

Quantum Algorithms

Our quantum group designs circuits for problems that classical machines handle poorly, chiefly molecular simulation and large scale logistics optimisation. Much of the work is unglamorous error correction, because an algorithm that cannot survive real hardware noise is of no use to anyone.

Green Energy Systems

We build the control intelligence that sits between renewable generation and the buildings that consume it. The current pilot spans eleven commercial sites in Berlin and Rotterdam, where adaptive scheduling has cut peak load without any change to how the buildings are actually used.

New AI breakthrough

Our diagnostics group reached 99 percent accuracy in predictive diagnostics across a blind validation set drawn from two partner hospitals. The full methodology, including the cases where the model failed, will appear in the winter publication.

Quantum lab expansion

The Berlin lab receives new funding to double its cryogenic capacity and add a dedicated fabrication space. Construction begins in the first quarter, with the extended facility scheduled to open to visiting researchers before the summer.
